The timetables of public transport in Vienna are fully integrated into both Google Maps and Apple Maps.
On the app stores you can find the ÖBB Scotty app for live public transport information, the ÖBB Tickets app for purchasing tickets for train/subway/tram/bus.
Important: Vienna International Airport is not located in the city of Vienna. So, a Vienna public transport day ticket does not allow you to travel to the airport. A train ticket from the Vienna International Airport usually includes a single fare on the public transport in the city of Vienna.
When travelling back, you can buy a ticket to the airport from the vending machines at the subway. However, these can only be purchased in combination with the (expensive) City Airport Train (CAT). As such, the more economical thing to do would be to purchase a subway/tram/bus ticket to the railway station, and then buy a ticket to the airport at the railway station.
However, for more convenience we strongly recommend installing both ÖBB apps on your mobile phone beforehand, and purchase your ticket to the city after arriving at Vienna airport (where there is also free wifi).
Once inside of Vienna, it could make sense to purchase a ticket for multiple days (24/48/72 hours, or 7/31 days) for Vienna's public transport. This includes all busses, trams, subways, and trains, within Vienna. But not the train out to the airport. Such tickets can be bought at subway stations, or via the Wiener Linien app. With the ÖBB Tickets app one can only purchase the 7/31 days tickets for Vienna's public transport.
Vienna International Airport is about 20km from the city center of Vienna, which can easily be reached by Airport Bus Shuttle, CAT (City Airport Train), train (S-Bahn), or taxi.
Depending on your time of arrival there are different train and subway options to travel to the conference or your hotel. As mentioned above, we recommend using Google Maps or Apple Maps to find the best connection. We also recommend using the ÖBB Tickets app for hassle, and queue free, purchasing of tickets from/to the airport.
There are regular buses from the airport to Wien Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz, Wien Dörfelstrasse/Meidling, and Wien Westbahnhof. The bus station is directly in front of the airport arrival hall. Buses leave every 20 to 30 minutes. It takes around 20-40 minutes to get to Vienna. Tickets (8 Euro) can be bought on the bus or from the ticket machine. Tickets are only valid for the shuttle bus, not for public transport in Vienna! Participants who want to go directly to the conference venue from the airport are advised to take the airport bus to Wien Morzinplatz/Schwedenplatz, then take underground U1 direction Oberlaa or Alaudagasse. Get off at stop Taubstummengasse for pre-conference venue or stop Karlsplatz for conference venue.

The taxi stand at the airport is in front of the arrival hall. It takes about half an hour to get to the city centre (approx. 40-60 Euro). To go from the city to the airport, either ask your hotel to book an airport taxi or call one of the following taxi companies (all of them offer special fares to the airport): 31300, 40100, 60160, 81400, or 1716.

Parking in all parts of the city is costly, there are no free parking options. The cheapest option to park your car for several days is to use one of the Park&Ride garages. The one closest to the underground U1 is 21., Leopoldau (U1) (2210 Wien, Seyringerstraße/Ernst Kein Gasse), which costs 4.1 Euro per day.
